Health and wellbeing

Another of our core values, care and respect, forms the basis of all of the Group’s health programmes. Our vision is that no employee is harmed by working at our operations, and that the health of those who work for us is improved.

HIV/AIDS

Anglo American continues to drive a leading HIV/AIDS response. During 2009, the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB) and Malaria recognised Anglo Thermal Coal’s South African mines with a business excellence award for the best workplace HIV/AIDS programme.
